When recycling glass bottles of wine glass, how do I melt the edges without breaking it?
I want to smooth edges of cut fusion of glass rather than just grinding. I tried to torch firing, but the window cracked. Do I need an oven for this purpose and, if so, how long at what temperature?
Basically, you can not. In theory, you heat the glass in a furnace until it is greater than the annealing temperature, but would not collapse of its own weight in a short time – about 1050F for window glass. Then you can take one or oxy-propane compressed-air/propane and melt the edges, but you would be the handling of glass 1050F and your flashlight is mounted on temperature you did. You can not use an air MAPP torch because the torch will not work properly with air at 1050F. make articles with bottles requires grinding off the edge of the cutting edge and shape then using progressively finer semolina, and polishes, if you do not agree on the ground. It takes time and manpower – destroying most of the recycling economy.
